Supervision
“Clinical supervision with Lauren has provided me with resources and knowledge, guidance to think more deeply about the issues as well as a safe haven to vent!”
“Our group sessions are productive and thought provoking. I feel listened to and validated.”
“Lauren has been a wonderful support to us and given us such sincere, genuine care with a kind listening ear.”
Lauren has experience providing clinical supervision to individuals and groups, working in contexts such as Child Protection, Domestic Violence, Early Childhood Services and Trauma. This has included counsellors, caseworkers, social workers, nurses and psychologists, from new graduates to professionals with 40 plus years of experience.
Lauren believes the most effective supervision operates on two levels:
- To provide evidence-based guidance on best practice for service provision. This involves the supervisee identifying the more complex and challenging elements of their role and may involve de-identified, case-based discussion. This will enhance the supervisee’s knowledge and skills, promote ongoing professional growth and facilitate best professional practice.
- Supervision should go beyond the work itself and reflect on the supervisee’s relationship to their work. Vicarious Trauma is increasingly being recognised as a significant factor in burnout and compassion fatigue. Lauren provides frameworks and tools for identifying and exploring the effects of vicarious trauma. She creates a warm and open environment to allow safe exploration of the effects of the work on the individual.
