Counselling

Lauren offers clients a warm, open environment in which to explore the challenges and concerns that have brought them to counselling. She works from a resilience based framework and will always be listening for the strengths and values that clients bring.

Counselling is offered to children, adolescents, adults and families and may include presenting concerns such as:

  • Parenting and Attachment
  • Family crisis, transition and change
  • Relationship issues
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Divorce/separation
  • Adjusting to major life events

It can be a significant step to reach out and access therapeutic services. Lauren tailors her approach to meet clients’ needs, using evidence based frameworks and models of practice. She is committed to hearing and understanding the individual’s identity and values, in the context of their family, history and culture.

Lauren practices from a systemic, trauma informed perspective and uses a number of theories and models, including: Systemic Frameworks, Trauma Informed and Response Based Practices, Family Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness Practices, Solution Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Lauren holds a special interest in the ways that trauma affects both the mind and body, and the connections between these.
